About Course
Course Description
Selenium Automation Testing [A203] is a short-term, non-degree training program that introduces students to automated software testing using Selenium and related testing tools. The course combines instructor-led instruction with hands-on exercises designed to develop practical automation-testing skills.
Students learn automation testing concepts, Selenium WebDriver, web-element identification, XPath and CSS selectors, Java programming concepts used in test automation, test-case development, debugging, and execution of automated tests.
The course also introduces students to commonly used supporting tools and concepts including Eclipse, Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, JUnit, Selenium Grid, and automation framework concepts.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
• Explain the purpose and fundamentals of automated software testing.
• Describe the role of Selenium in web-application testing.
• Identify web elements using common Selenium locator strategies.
• Develop and execute basic automated tests using Selenium WebDriver.
• Apply Java programming concepts used in Selenium automation exercises.
• Use XPath and CSS selectors to locate application elements.
• Execute and debug instructor-guided Selenium test scripts.
• Explain basic automation framework concepts.
• Describe the role of Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, JUnit, and Selenium Grid in test-automation environments.
• Apply automation concepts through instructor-guided exercises and project simulations.
Hands-On Training
Students participate in instructor-guided exercises using sample web applications to practice developing, executing, debugging, and maintaining automated tests. Exercises may include test scenarios, Selenium WebDriver scripts, element identification, test data, and introductory automation-framework concepts.
Career Preparation
The course may include resume preparation, interview practice, and general job-search resources related to software testing and test automation. These activities are educational career-preparation resources and do not constitute a guarantee of employment or job placement.
