Operated by American Institute of Technical Education LLC

Effective Date: October 27, 2026

1. Institution and Scope

American Institute of Technical Education (AITE) provides career-oriented, non-degree technical and workforce training.

These Terms and Conditions apply to AITE’s website, applications, registrations, enrollment activities, and training services. Program-specific enrollment agreements, published catalogs, and course disclosures provide additional terms.

AITE maintains its applicable Minnesota Office of Higher Education authorizations and operates within the scope of those authorizations. OHE authorization is not institutional accreditation, an endorsement of educational quality, or a guarantee of eligibility for government funding.

2. Program Information and Disclosures

Before entering into an enrollment agreement, prospective students will be given access to the applicable program description and institutional policies, including:

  • Program title, curriculum, learning objectives, and occupational relevance
  • Admission requirements and prerequisites
  • Total instructional hours, training format, and schedule
  • Tuition, mandatory fees, books, equipment, and other required expenses
  • Attendance, assessment, and completion requirements
  • Cancellation and refund rights
  • Credential or certificate awarded upon successful completion
  • Available student support and complaint procedures

Program information will be maintained accurately and updated when material changes occur.

3. Admissions and Enrollment

Applicants must provide accurate registration information and satisfy any published program prerequisites.

Submission of an application does not by itself guarantee admission, enrollment, a reserved seat, or eligibility for funding.

AITE will communicate acceptance or rejection and provide the applicable enrollment agreement and disclosures.

Students must be given the opportunity to review their enrollment terms before entering a binding agreement. Where Minnesota Statutes §136A.826 applies, the required advance review period will be observed.

4. Tuition, Fees, and Payment

The total tuition and mandatory fees for each program will be disclosed before enrollment.

AITE will provide students with a written breakdown of required charges and applicable payment arrangements.

Students will not be charged undisclosed mandatory fees. Any approved payment plan or third-party funding arrangement will be documented separately.

Payments will be processed through authorized payment methods. Students should not submit payment-card security codes or complete card numbers through ordinary website text fields or email.

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy — Student’s Right to Cancel

American Institute of Technical Education (AITE) is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and student-friendly cancellation and refund policy.

AITE voluntarily adopts the student protections described below, based on Minnesota Office of Higher Education refund standards under Minnesota Statutes §136A.827. These protections apply to AITE students unless applicable law or a government-funded training agreement requires more favorable terms.

5.1 Full Refund — Within Five Business Days

Students may cancel their enrollment within five business days after AITE provides notice of acceptance or the enrollment agreement is executed, whichever occurs later.

Students who cancel within this period will receive a 100% refund of all tuition, fees, and other enrollment charges paid, even if training has already started.

5.2 Cancellation Before Training Begins

If a student cancels after the five-business-day cancellation period but before training begins, AITE will refund all tuition and fees paid, less an administrative charge equal to 15% of the total program cost, not exceeding $50.

The maximum administrative deduction is $50.

5.3 Withdrawal After Training Begins

If a student withdraws after training begins and before completing 75% of the entire program, AITE will calculate the refund based on the proportion of scheduled training hours actually attended.

The refund will be calculated as follows:

Refund = Total refundable program charges − (Total refundable program charges × Completion percentage).

Completion percentage is calculated by dividing the clock hours actually attended by the total scheduled clock hours for the program, truncated to two decimal places.

AITE will not impose an additional withdrawal penalty or administrative charge for withdrawals after training begins.

Students who have completed 75% or more of the entire program are generally not eligible for a prorated withdrawal refund, except where applicable law, funding requirements, or another written agreement provides otherwise.

5.4 Example — 36-Hour Training Program

For a program costing $3,990 with 36 scheduled clock hours:

  • Withdrawal after 0 hours attended: $3,990 refund, subject to the applicable pre-start cancellation provision.
  • Withdrawal after 9 hours attended (25%): $2,992.50 refund.
  • Withdrawal after 18 hours attended (50%): $1,995 refund.
  • Withdrawal after 24 hours attended (66.66%): approximately $1,330.13 refund.
  • Withdrawal after 27 hours attended (75%): no prorated withdrawal refund under this policy.

These examples assume full tuition payment, no separate charges, and withdrawal outside the initial full-refund cancellation period.

5.5 How to Cancel Enrollment

Students may cancel or withdraw by notifying AITE:

Email: raj@instituteusa.com
Mail or in person: American Institute of Technical Education, 220 Robert Street S, Suite 104, Saint Paul, MN 55107

Students may also provide verbal notice to an authorized AITE administrator.

A written cancellation request is encouraged but is not required.

The cancellation date is the date AITE receives the student’s notice of intent to withdraw, subject to applicable law.

AITE will provide written confirmation of withdrawal.

5.6 Refund Processing Timeline

AITE will:

  • Acknowledge a valid cancellation notice in writing within 10 business days.
  • Process and issue refunds due within 30 business days after receiving a valid cancellation notice.
  • Cancel any remaining tuition obligation exceeding the amount properly owed under this policy.

Refunds will ordinarily be returned through the original payment method where feasible.

5.7 Rejected Applications and Program Cancellation

If AITE rejects an applicant after collecting payment, the applicant will receive a full refund of all amounts collected for that enrollment.

If AITE cancels a program before it begins, enrolled students will receive a full refund of tuition and fees paid.

If AITE discontinues a program after instruction begins and cannot provide the contracted training, AITE will refund amounts required by applicable law and the enrollment agreement, including a full refund of tuition for undelivered instruction. Where law requires a greater refund, AITE will provide it.

5.8 Government-Funded Training

For students participating in WIOA or other government-funded training programs, refunds will be handled in accordance with the applicable funding agreement, agency requirements, and governing laws.

Refunds payable to a sponsoring or funding agency will be returned to the appropriate party as required.

Students will not be required to waive statutory rights as a condition of enrollment or withdrawal.

5.9 Student Protections

AITE will not deny an otherwise valid refund because a student failed to comply with an attendance rule, conduct requirement, or other institutional policy.

Students will receive no less than the refund required by applicable law.

5.10

5.6 Refund Processing

For cancellations governed by Minnesota Statutes §136A.827, AITE will acknowledge valid cancellation notices in writing within ten business days and issue refunds due within 30 business days.

Where third-party funding is involved, refunds will be allocated or returned as required by the funding agreement and applicable law.

5.7 School Cancellation or Closure

If AITE cancels a training program or closes before completing contracted instruction, students will receive the refund, alternative instruction, or other remedy required by applicable law and their enrollment agreements.

AITE will notify affected students and applicable funding organizations.

5.8 No Waiver of Statutory Rights

No provision of these Terms waives or reduces any student right established by applicable law.

6. Attendance and Academic Progress

Students are expected to participate in scheduled instruction, complete required coursework, and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Each program will disclose its attendance requirements, assessment standards, and completion criteria.

AITE will communicate procedures concerning absences, make-up instruction, academic deficiencies, and reentry.

7. Student Conduct

Students must behave respectfully toward instructors, staff, and other participants.

Prohibited conduct includes harassment, threats, academic dishonesty, misuse of training resources, unauthorized system access, and activities that compromise safety or security.

Disciplinary actions will follow published procedures, with an appropriate opportunity for students to respond.

8. Certificates, Credentials, and Transferability

Students meeting the published completion requirements may receive an AITE Certificate of Completion.

A Certificate of Completion is not automatically an industry-recognized certification or a recognized postsecondary credential for WIOA purposes.

Where a program prepares students for a third-party certification, the certifying organization, examination requirements, fees, and eligibility conditions will be disclosed.

AITE does not guarantee that training hours or completion certificates will transfer as academic credit to another institution.

9. Employment and Career Services

AITE may provide career guidance, resume assistance, interview preparation, or other employment-related support as described in program materials.

AITE does not guarantee employment, placement, certification examination success, specific wages, or promotion.

Any published employment or wage outcomes must be accurate, verifiable, and appropriately described.

10. Equal Opportunity and Accessibility

AITE is committed to nondiscrimination and equal opportunity in its programs and services.

AITE will comply with applicable federal and Minnesota civil rights requirements, including relevant Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act requirements when participating in covered workforce programs.

Students may request reasonable disability-related accommodations through AITE’s student administration.

Retaliation against individuals who raise good-faith discrimination or accessibility concerns is prohibited.

11. Student Complaints and Grievances

Students may submit concerns involving admissions, instruction, tuition, refunds, conduct, accessibility, or other institutional matters to AITE Student Administration.

Complaints may be submitted in writing by email or mail, or initially raised with an authorized administrator.

AITE will review complaints impartially, seek relevant information, and communicate a written response or resolution. Students may request reconsideration when they believe material information was overlooked.

Students retain any right to submit complaints to the Minnesota Office of Higher Education or another agency with jurisdiction over the matter.

12. WIOA and Third-Party-Funded Training

Eligibility for WIOA or other public funding is determined by the appropriate workforce or funding agency, not solely by AITE.

AITE will not represent that a program is WIOA-certified unless the program has received the applicable certification.

For funded participants, AITE will cooperate with authorized agencies regarding enrollment, attendance, progress, completion, credentials, and required performance reporting, subject to applicable privacy and consent requirements.

Students may be required to complete separate funding, eligibility, or release-of-information documentation.

13. Student Records and Privacy

AITE will maintain educational records using safeguards appropriate to the information collected.

Student records will be retained and disclosed according to applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and funding-program requirements.

Additional information is provided in AITE’s Privacy Policy at:

AITE may make reasonable operational changes to schedules, instructors, classrooms, or training technology.

Material changes will be communicated to affected students.

Changes that affect contracted training, student costs, or legally protected enrollment rights will be addressed in accordance with applicable law and enrollment agreements.

Website content and training materials may be protected by copyright, licensing agreements, and other intellectual property rights.

Students may use authorized materials for educational purposes but may not distribute protected content without permission.

16. Policy Changes and Governing Requirements

AITE may update these policies to reflect changes in operations, educational programs, and applicable requirements.

Material revisions will be identified by an updated effective date.

Policies will not be applied retroactively to deprive students of rights established under existing enrollment agreements or applicable law.

Where a provision conflicts with controlling law, the controlling legal requirement governs.
